There are a few different programs such as; HUD (Housing and Urban Development) that is based on income and dependents but, tend to be in shady neighborhoods. There is also Habitat For Humanity that requires that you help in construction of the house and several other houses in the area as part of your payment.

There many loans available to single moms who aren't working. The interest rate is low and normally a payment plan it set up to repay the money.
