What kind of large dogs make good pets?

Labrador Retrievers make excellent pets. I have been around many in my life, and they are always kind, loyal, protective, and very smart. A Siberian Husky is also a very loving, but protective animal. American Coonhounds would also be good. They are very energetic and playful. Out of all these breeds, a labrador is probably the most kid friendly.

any kind of collie makes a good pet. also, boxers are friendly dogs. great danes have a great personality and are good with children. dobermans, not so much. i also like saint bernards.

The Boxer breed is an excellent pet. They are extremely gentle and very tolerant - great to have around children. They are protective of their family and home, but are not aggressive.

Many large dogs are excellent companions. St. Bernards are very warm and good with children. Labrador Retrievers also are great family dogs, though they need a great deal of time and attention.

Dobermans get a bad reputation sometimes because they are known as aggressive dogs. This is often not the case, as Dobermans can be very sweet and loyal companions. They can be couch potatoes or very active, depending on your lifestyle. They have clownish personalities and are always a great conversation piece.

Golden Retrievers are great pets. They are very friendly for the most part with not only humans, but also with other dogs. They love to play all the time and will supply you with never ending love.
