What is the pulling capacity of a Jeep Cherokee?

I would like to pull an RV with my Cherokee but am unsure if it can handle the weight.

Typically it depends on the year of the Cherokee but the maximum pulling capacity of a Jeep Cherokee, regardless of the year, is around 6000 pounds. Double check the drivers manual. Check and make sure that your Jeep is compatible with that weight limit. However, 6000 pounds is the typical maximum weight for towing. Exercise caution while towing anything more.

It depends on your engine size, if your engine is a 6 cylinder, the towing max towing capacity is 5,000 pounds - if your engine is an 8 cylinder, the towing capacity is 6500 pounds.

Assuming it's based on the XJ platform produced between 1995 and 2001, and equipped with one of the 4 liter V6 engines your towing capacity should be 5,000 pounds.

It would depend on the age of your vehicle. Most likely a vehicle of that size, with a V-8 engine and plenty of power will be able to pull 5,000 pounds or more. Of course this would depend on your particular vehicle, some models were made with towing packages that include stiffer suspension and bigger engines.

It depends on the year of your Jeep. According to the company's website, the 2010 Grand Cherokee can handle towing up to 7500 lbs. Previous models towing capacity may vary.

Without the information on the year and option of your Jeep it is impossible to say. Typically you will find information like this in your owners manual.

The tongue weight listed on your hitch should be pretty specific but, most "Hide-A-Hitch" max. loads are 600lbs and max. pulling weight of 6000lbs.

To pulling capacity on your Jeep Cherokee is probably around a quarter or half a ton. It could be more if you have a bigger engine.

The pulling capacity should be on a sticker on the drivers side door in the seal area or look in your owners manual. You could also go to your local jeep dealership and they can tell you right away. It depends on the year and exact model. A good rule of thumb if you don't think it will then don't.
