How to replace the ignition key cylinder in a Jeep Cherokee?

I need to replace the ignition key cylinder in my Jeep Cherokee.

You will need to take apart the steering column to get to the ignition key cylinder. When you get to it, there should be a small access hole on the bottom. Put something in there and then you should be able to pull the cylinder out.

First disconnect the battery to prevent the airbag from going off. Next remove the steering column cover by unscrewing the three torx bolts underneath. Turn the key in the cylinder and press the release button located at the base of the ignition switch. The whole cylinder should come right out.

remove steering shroud, its the black box behindthe wheel by unscrewing the three torx bolts underneath #20, #25 i forgot. Turn the key in the cylinder and press the rectangular button close the base of the ignition. The whole cylinder should come right out with a little jiggling, dont setoff your airbag so undo the battery and wait two minutes.
