Becoming a doctor is a very lengthy process. You have to complete a bachelor's degree and then be admitted to medical school. Medical school is another four years, and admissions are very competitive. Most doctors complete a residency after this, even, and these vary in duration with specialty.

first you have to complete your MBBS education of 4 years and then applied for MD ( doctor of medicine of 2 years , in india any university can give MD deegree. all you have to do is to clear entrance test in apperiaing MD education , after successfull completion of your study you have been awarded as MD.

As an undergraduate, you can major in anything and still take the prerequisite courses for medical school. Make sure your grades are stellar. Then you will need to go to medical school for approximately four years. After that, you will have a residency where you will practice under supervision. You can also get further education to become a specialist.
