People fear doctors because of the power doctors have over them. Doctors seem to have all the answers and these relate to the most basic of fears- life and death.
It is because, unlike teachers, they touch the physical part of a person's lives and that is uncomfortable for most people. Also, they are associated in one's mind with death.
