Question by SethBailey (26)
Why is it a woodwind when it doesn't have a reed?
Answer by Dean (4035)
Reed instruments (like clarinet, oboe, saxaphone, etc.) are a category of woodwinds. The flute is play by forcing air through it; hence, it is a woodwind.
