A crock pot is a slow cooker. Crock pot is the brand names so a slow cooker like Sumbeam or Hamilton Beach. If they refered to their pot as crock pot lawyer would cry infringement trademark.
I believe they are very much the same, perhaps one has featurs the other doesn't such as temperature settings. To my knowledge and limited experince, you are able to place food in both to cook slow all day (or night) safely.
