What should I know about slow cooking chicken?

Two of the most important things to consider when slow cooking chicken is that if you don't marinate it beforehand it will be tough when it comes out. The other is that chicken is VERY easy to undercook so make sure it cooks plenty of time on high heat.

Slow cooking chicken is a great idea any time of year. Rub the chicken with butter or olive oil, salt, and pepper. Put a clove of garlic and celery inside. The celery will make the chicken very juicy. Slow cook in a crock pot for approximately 8 hours. Delicious!

1. Chicken is OK to cook in a slow cooker IF it gets to the minimum 170° F to kill all bacteria the entire time it is cooking.

Chicken is fine in the slow cooker as long as you have it set high enough it the cooker is set too low semonela could set in. just make sure the cooker is on at least low or medium not just set on warm. Warm could be a little dangerous.
