You can basically make any soup in the crock pot, it's a wonderful invention! Just put all your ingredients in it, turn it on low and let it cook!

Yes, you can. The trick there is you have to make sure you put enough fluid on it so that it will not burn or scorch to the bottom of the crock pot on you.
