What is the blue coloring around the area of my female dog's private parts?

The blue color that you are seeing around your dogs private parts in most likely due to her going into heat. As a female dog goes into heat the area around her vagina turns dark blue, almost grey, in color. This is normal. If your dog is not in heat is may be a good idea to consult a vet.

My instinctive question is, what color is your carpet? If its blue, its possible she's been dragging her bottom and her private parts got colored in the process. In this case, get her wormed. If its not that, I'm not sure. Has this area always been colored like this? Perhaps she's bruised.

You will need to ask your vet, to see if it is all right. The vet can tell you more about what it is, and if the dog is ok or not.
