What is the black stuff in my dog's ears?

They are ear mites. Whether it's the scat or corpses, it doesn't really matter. That's what it is. The technical name of them is Otodectes cynotis. They can be treated with Acarexx massaged into the ears. Two or three treatments should do.

It could be wax or it could be from ear mites. If your dog has ear mites you'll want to get an ear mite remedy, Revolution works really well. If it's wax just clean your dog's ears out.

It could be ear wax. If it's ear wax then you can take a damp cotton swab and gently wipe the ear wax out. If the stuff comes off easily then it is ear wax or dirt. If the stuff doesn't wipe off even with a moist cotton swab then you may want to take your dog to the vet.

It could be ear mites, they are very small bugs that infest your animals ear and causes them to scratch alot. Go to Pet Smart they have a remedy.
