What is the best weightlifting routine for a beginner?

a very weak, skinny beginner?

Start with weight that provides resistance, but enough that you can move it up each set, for three sets. For example, if you can only lift 100 pounds, start with 85 and move up by 5 each set. Decrease the reps each time by 2-4. By the end of the last set, you should not be able to continue.

As a gym consultant, i can say that you must not start with weightlifting from the day first. Firstly do warm up exercise and then do it 5 times a day and daily increment it with 5 days upto your limit which may be 50 or 100.

First, go to usda.gov and work on proper eating! Start slowly, with a stretching routine. Go to the library and get a video to work with or live coach!
