Muenster cheese has very mild flavor and smooth and soft texture. The cheese's taste is said to be comparable to more commonly known cheeses such as American cheese and Jack cheese. The cheese is most commonly used as an appetizer and because of its ability to melt well it is often used in grilled cheese, quesadillas, tuna melts, and cheeseburgers.

Muenster cheese is a mild cheese with a texture more like Monterey Jack cheese. It does not have a sharp bite to it, like Swiss cheese. It has a slight butter flavor and it goes well in everything from macaroni and cheese to sandwiches.
