A lot of them have some sort of a wax base, such as bee's wax. The testing on animals part depends on your personal beliefs of testing.

Lipstick is made of wax, oil and pigment. There are, of course other ingredients as well but these are the main ones. It shouldn't be tested on animals because some of these substances could harm them.

Lipstick is comprised of oil, wax, pigment and alcohol. It shouldn't be tested on animals because these are not all natural ingredients and could be harmful to animals.

Lipstick is basically made up of wax, oil, alcohol and dye or pigment, fragrance and preservatives. Some lipstick may be added with harmful elements such as lead which can cause cancer and anemia. The dyes, preservatives and fragrance used are also carcinogenic. So better choose those of more natural ingredients.
