A reading of 120/80 is considered normal. Readings can be higher or lower, but consistent readings of 140/90 mean that a person has high blood pressure and should receive some type of treatment.

My doctor says 120/60 is ideal. But as you get older the 60 might become an 80. Your doctor would be the one to ask.
