It could easily be an actual green lady bug! Lady bugs come in all colors of the rainbow - Brown, Pink, Green, Gray, and even striped! However, there are also many beetles that many people confuse with lady bugs because of their shape and they way they look.

If it's green and had very symmetrical spots, it's probably a spotted cucumber beetle. Unlike the beneficial lady bug, the beetle is considered a pest.
