How should I treat black spots on boxwood scrubs?

I have boxwoods all along the front of my yard and they all have black spots.

Black spot is a sign that something is wrong somewhere other than the leafs. So first treat for root problems. It could be root rot which is caused by too much watering. Try a fungicide and limit watering. It could also be nematodes which are parasites that feed on the weeds and can pretty much appear out of no where.

You should treat them with respect while still being firm. They obviously don't belong there so try to get them to go away.

If you mean black spots on the leaves this can be a sign of trouble elsewhere, probably in the roots. You might want to get the soil tested for nematodes. It could also be a sign of root rot, so while your digging a hole for a soil sample, check the drainage,

It's called Macrophoma leaf spot. Can be caused by thick foliage. And usually can be controlled by pruning out the infected branches. But no chemicals are recomended.

Try putting dehydrated lime on them after the sun goes down and just a light dusting alot of times that will sweeten everything up and it will help the plant to pick up and get growing again as well as take care of the other problems the plant or plants have been having.

Well, the first thing is that it will grow in almost any soil, even higly alkaline, as long as it is well drained. Has almost no insect or disease problems when it's grown outdoors in full sun places. It's blooming period starts somewhere in June, and lasts until November (it is pretty long).

Black spot is a fungus. Your local nursery can recommend a fungicide to use, but make sure that the plants are not crowded and not being watered at night.
