Is cranberry juice good for weight loss?

I have heard that drinking several glasses a day of cranberry juice will make you lose weight.

This is not true. The tannins in cranberry juice will help keep your digestive tract clear, but cranberry juice is still high in sugar, and while it's better for you than white sugar, it's still excess calories. The way to lose weight is to eat fewer calories than you use.

Some people claim that cranberry juice helps to cleanse the body, which may be true. Drinking several glasses of cranberry juice a day won't help you lose weight unless you are drinking that instead of consuming something else. If you simply add the glasses of juice to what you're already eating you would gain weight because of the extra calories.

Cranberry juice can be very high in calories and carbohydrates, it will not help you lose weight but is a healthier choice than soda.
