You can try a boric acid wash. Boil a quart of water, add one tablespoon of boric acid powder and let cool to room temperature. Dip a cotton ball into the cooled solution and use it to wipe the dog's eye. Infection should clear in 2-3 days.

A good homemade cure for discharge from a dog's eyes would be to wash the eye area with a warm washrag then administer a solution of sterile water and saline.

Before a treatment can be suggested, the cause of eye discharge must be determined. You dog may have an infection, an illness or disease, a tumor, allergies, etc. Take him to the veterinarian to get the best advice and treatment.

There's very little simple things to do. Eye discharge is from an allergy like a human's runny nose/sneezing. You could go to the vet and attempt to discover what the dog is allergic to or just try hypo-allergenic products/filters in your home.

Keep the eye clean of any build up of discharge and then rinse with a light saline solution several times a day will help with any discomfort. Take note of any possible allergins the dog may be in contact with and removing them from the dogs envirment should also help.

Take your dog to the vet to determine what is causing the discharge. It could be a wound in the eye that homemade remedies could irritate and make worse.
