It is filed in the pharmacy as every pharmacy has to account for any discrepancies for any given medicine. It is also kept as a record of the patients medical history. In case of a dilemma that arises, such as an overdose or death of a customer, the pharmacy has proof of what it has dispensed.

It then gets put into the computer, that it has been filled, and awaiting pick up. It is then organized into bins, that have costumers names on them. After that it's just waiting for you to pick up your prescription.

The prescription has to be taken to the nearest Pharmacy, so that you purchase the prescribed medicine and start your medication as per the doses mentioned and regain your health.

Once a precription is counted in then goes on to the pharmacist for verification. They check to make sure it is the right medicine and that all the instructions are correct. In a retail pharmacy it will then go in to an alphabetical bin waiting for pick up.

The medicine bottle will then be put in a bag with proper paper documentation of the usage of the medicine. The bag will be stapled shut.
