What happened to the TV series "Charmed"?

The TV series "Charmed" was canceled in 2006 after eight seasons due to the huge drop in viewers in the 7th and especially the 8th season. Many felt that the show should've ended in the 7th season and the disaster that was season 8 seems to prove them right.

Charmed the WB television series ran for a total of 8 seasons and was canceled in 2006. Like most television shows it was canceled due to lack of ratings.
