What gauge of wire is best to use for a home stereo system?

In my experience, 22 gauge is a very nice gauge of wire to work with. Generally, it'll work fine, unless your system is very high-def. Then use 33 gauge.

I prefer to use something manageable, like 14ga. Using gold plated or oversized wire is a waste of money. Stranded copper is probably the easiest to strip & install.

Check your stereo system and speaker's owners manual for the recommended gauge of wire. Most will be between 10 and 16. If you are running the wire under carpets or along walls then flat wire will be ideal. Most surround sound systems work best with 16 gauge wire and 14 for normal speakers.

The best gauge to use is 16 gauge. If you're running a very high end system, you can of course get a more suitable gauge but in most cases 14-16 gauge wire will be more than sufficient and relatively inexpensive - shielded wire is best.

Well you can use any kind of wire as long as it is 15 amp wire. It has to be that kind because it will work best for the stereo system. Also there are many variations of this available and you can look at purchasing it from any store or ebay.

In terms of the speaker outputs, the larger the wire the less resistance. Generally a gauge of 12 to 16 is a good choice.

It really depends on the power of the amplifier and speakers as well as the length of the wire run you will be using. Anything over 18 gauge would work best. If you can find it for your price range then I would recommend using 12 or maybe 14 gauge.

A 16 gauge wire is the best one and is the most recommended one used for the home stereo system.
