This all depends on what you need out of your sound system. Most home entertainment systems come equipped with a radio receiver to listen to local radio stations. If your system does not it will probably provide better sound quality if ran through your entertainment system, but will cost more.

In order to save space, and keep up with what is new, it is highly recommended that you get a sterreo component that goes with your whole entertainment system.
