He was found guilty of second-degree homicide by a jury of his peers in 1999 and was sentenced to 10 to 25 years in Coldwater, Michigan. Though, he only served 8 because he convinced the parole officers that he was going to die in a year from his Hepatitis C. Now, he rallies efforts to make assisted suicide legal.
