What do you do about slipping transmissions?

You can try a transmission flush but more than likely your gonna have to replace the transmission. Its usually cheaper to replace than tear down. Check with a transmission shop.

If you are not very mechanical the best thing you can do it take it to a repair shop if you do anything yourself you could damage your vehicle.

When a transmission slips it means you friction clutches are starting to go out. They can't grab like they are supposed to and slip occasionally do to wear. The only way to remedy this is to tear the transmission apart and rebuild it.

The first thing to check is fluid condition. If it is not bright red or has a burnt smell, your transmission is probably toast. However, if the fluid is red and doesn't smell burnt, then check the level when hot and also check for a clogged filter before turning it over to a transmission shop.
