The waves in the Grand Caymans can be rough and the islands are surrounded by coral reefs that can prove to be hazardous in choppy water. Another cautionary bit of advice includes being aware of great white sharks and other predator sea life.

In the main city go to the public beach and look for a smaller shack with about 3-7 surfboards out front (on the west side). The top of the shack should be a faded yellow. Ask for Miguel - best surf guide on the island!

Make sure it is the right time of year as the waves stink for part of the year. Make sure you are with someone and be ware of sharks and rocks.

Well you as always have to look out for sharks and strong currents. The Grand Caymans have strongs and bigger waves then most places.
