If the ignition rotor is not working make sure you are using the right key, if so call a tow truck and have the car taken to Jeep dealership so that a professinal can fix the problem. It could be loose wiring, or the rotor could me jammed. Either way a serviceman needs to be involved in repairing it.

The ignition rotor is rotated by the cam. They are connected by a plastic gear. It is common for this gear to strip or crack over time. Pull the distributor out and inspect the gear at the bottom. If the gear is damaged, purchase a new gear and replace it.

Mark distributor position before removing. Remove distributor. Check gear on bottom of distributor to see is it is broken. Check gear in engine. If gears not broken reinstall distributor. Check timing belt.

first check if it's seated properly on the shaft, next check if you can turn the rotor and shaft by hand, if you can, the Distributor must be replaced.

If it doesn't move when the engine is being cranked then you have a major problem like a broken timing chain or a striped drive gear.

If the distributor rotor is not turning is means that either the gear at the bottom of the distributor is sheared off or the camshaft isn't turning.
