Benzene, embalming fluid, ammonia (a common household cleaner), acetone(nail polish remover), tar. Some have arsenic (rat poison) and hydrogen cyanide. These are a few of the chemicals found in cigarettes. As you can see some are common household cleaners and pest poisons. Nicotine is the addictive agent and the rest just enhance the flavor or make the experience more enjoyable.

I know for certain that there is carbon monoxide as well. I'm sure that there are other chemicals in there I don't know about. Needless to say, don't smoke.

Tar is considered the other dangerous one and the smoke itself. You are pretty much depriving yourself of oxygen when you smoke and instead inhaling nicotine and tar. Nicotine isn't as dangerous as addictive though for adults. It is the tar that mainly causes later problems in life such as lung cancer.

There are things such as tar, arsenic, butane, carbon monoxide, cyanide. All of which are different types of poison and some of these can be deadly if over used. Lead is a big one, because we know now that lead can be very poisonous. That is just a partial list of all the deadly stuff found in cigarettes.
