There are many reason for this, the simplest is that Internet Explorer just needs to be updated. You may also have downloaded some executable file that is causing the problem.

It is pretty difficult to diagnose a general problem, like the one you have, with so little information. Try to get as much information as you can before posting. What is your email provider?. What Internet Explorer version are you using?.
