What could be going on if I have a yellowish tongue at the back of my throat, is it a fungus?

The yellowish color could be coming from something that you have eaten or drink within the past few hours, just keep watch on it.

If there is a fungal or bacterial infection in the mouth the tougue will changes in yellow color. The yellowish tint is propably a clue. Another possibility is it may be gastric reflux. The mouth's normal bacterial flora may rearrange by the acid.

It could be due to fungal infections caused by Candida or hairy tongue where the colour becomes yellow due to extrinsic stains like medicines or certain foods.
