Usually while coordinating clothes, complementary or contrast colors would look pleasing to the eye. In this case yellow is neither contrasting nor complementary to maroon. I guess black would be a safer option here.
You can wear either black or matching maroon shoes. If the dress has another color in in you can wear that as well. Choosing the dominant color is generally best.
If there is alittle bit yellowish colour in the dress and some black colour i will prefer to wear black because it looks more graceful then yellow.Black is a decent colour and goes with almost every dress.
