The top is deep purple and I can't figure out what color shoes to wear.

An old rule of thumb is that white and black go with anything. With the shirt being deep purple, black would probably look better.

I would play it safe and go with black. If your wearing the top with jeans, a nice black boot or stilletto would be sexy.

It would depend on the bottom of your outfit as shoes are normally matched to the garment closest to your feet. If wearing Jeans, I would suggest black boots.
