Tail drooping in a dog is a sign that the dog is scared, sick, depressed or unhappy. But, while nothing may be wrong with your dog you still need to consult your veterinarian to see if anything could.

If its just a drooping/limp tail with no discomfort or extreme pain than its called "swimmers tali". Its normally a soft tissue injury to the tail, and should go away in time. However, if it continues you could get an anti-inflammitory medicine from your vet. If pain/vomitting occur see vet.

Tail drooping is emotional sign in dogs. When they are afraid, angry, their tail droops. Such time is not advisable to approach dogs.
