Small dogs are known to suffer spinal injuries because they are always jumping on and off of high surfaces. This could be your dog's problem, especially if kept indoors.

Take your dog immediately to the vet. Sudden paralysis in small dogs could be the result of a stroke or spine injury. Only through a thorough exam will your vet be able to tell you the reason

If you think you're worried, try walking in your dogs pawprints! Take your dog to your veterinarian immediately. Paralysis usually indicates a neurological issue.

Acute onset paralysis in a small dog may be caused by a variety of issues from a pinched nerve in their neck to an illness. Depending on the breed of canine, some are more prone to developing nerve and joint disorders. This condition should always be evaluated by a veterinarian.
