Most canine facial paralysis cannot be cured so focus on making his life easier. Your dog may not be able to eat or groom himself, so focus on these things. Consider hand feeding him (by syringe if necessary), soft food or liquids. If your dog can't blink, ensure his eyes remain clean and use eyedrops to keep them lubricated.

Facial paralysis is actually fairly common in dogs. Unfortunantely, not much is known about what causes this. Only in rare cases can a vetrinarian fix this problem. Most dogs learn to adapt to their paralysis fairly quickly, but it would still be a good idea to take your dog in to a vet for his professional opion.

Chronic ear infections are the main cause of the paralysis and not much can be done after it happens. Keeping a dogs ears clean helps to prevent infections and paralysis.

There isn't much that can be done without a vet. The dog probably has some sort of brain injury and needs to see the vet right away. It may have been hit by a car.

Little can be done for paralysis in a dog, their quality life is usually unafffected by this problem. The veterinarian can diagnose what is wrong so possible meds are administered.

Idiopathic facial nerve paralysis is usually left untreated because, by definition, no cause been identified. Facial nerve paralysis secondary to otitis requires at least 4 to 6 weeks oral antibiotic.
