Anything, really, as long as you get the correct needle for your machine. Denim is a thick twill weave, so you need a bigger needle like a 14 or 16. Some companies make special needles for denim. I've made dresses, bags, skirts-- my roommate had a denim patchwork quilt!

These days almost anything can be made from denim. Traditionaly it's been pants or jackets, but dresses, skirts and tops are becoming more common. Denim can be harder to sew with since it's so heavy.

Denim is very versatile and the list of possibilities is almost endless. Some of the more obvious items would be jeans, shirts, jackets, hats, dresses, blazers, purses. Some less obvious choices would include patchwork quilts, shawls, slipcovers, decorative pillows and even a wedding gown.
