You shouldn't need a special machine but you may want a sturdier needle. Some sewing machines come with a set of needles varying in thickness. If you are concerned about the strength of the needle currently in your sewing machine, take a look at the manual for instructions.

You don't need a special sewing machine for demin, but you do need a different needle. There are different needles for different kinds of fabric and since demin is so heavy it requires a stronger needle. Your local fabric store should carry the different needles for your sewing machine or you could try the manufacturer's website.

You might want to get a heavy duty sewing machine since the fabric seems to be too thick. Reviews online say Brother Heavy Duty CE4000 is good for that.

Yes you need jean needles you can buy them at your local craft store down the notions asile.You can also purchase them online at Joanns .They also make sewing machines that sew denim.Best place to look is at your local craft store they can answer any other quetions you might have.

You can use a household sewing machine. You will need to use a needle that is for denim/heavy material. You will find it in any sewing department.
