They need to be kept moisturized. Apply a good lip balm or petroleum jelly product and make sure you do not let your lips get dry. Apply it frequently. If you have blisters or any sign of infection you may want to visit your doctor for treatment.

While it may hurt to apply lip balm, keeping your lips moisturized is very important if they are sun burned. Lip balms with aloe or vitamin E will be especially helpful in healing the damaged skin. Avoid balms with mint as they will irritate.

Obviously prevention is the best medicine, especially when it comes to the skin. In the case of sunburned or windburned lips you need to re-moisurize as soon as possible. Preferrably a product that will both moisurize damaged lips and also one that will prevent further damage. If nothing is immediately available, good old vaseline will work.

I have used & works is chapstick or aloeverra, if you can find some with litacane(sp), that way if your lips are burning from dryness it will help the pain.

If you sunburn your lips there are a number of measures that can be taken. You could see your physician or use some of the over the counter products they sell for it.
