You can claim you tuition and required fees as a credit or deduction, depending on what comes out better for you. To claim the credits, your parents cannot claim you.
You can only take tax deductions if someone else is not claiming you as a dependent on their tax return. There is the education tax credit and Hope scholarship tax credit that can be claimed.
