A person of any age may be required to file taxes. If you are a dependent and your wages are morethan $5,650 in 2009, you must file a tax return. Even if you are not required to file, you must file to get a refund of any taxes withheld.

Yes, you may file a tax return at any age. You need to file a return if you have at least $850 in unearned income and/or $8750 in total income.
