You'll have better success if you use a hair color with the word "ash" in the name. Do not use any haircolor with the word "gold" or "golden" in the title as these are warm toned shades and are more likely to cause brassiness.

I suggest a more expensive hair die, one with full coverage. The gold finish sounds like natural highlights or something. Can be avoided with a full coverage dye.

Be careful of what water you have. If you have hard water you hair is more likely to go brassy.
