Prevention includes: breast feed first 6 months, limit smoke exposure, and limit exposure to colds. When signs of infection appear: administer recommended doses of Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen. Use warm wash cloth over affected ear. If no drainage is present, use a drop of warm olive or vegetable oil. See your MD for 7 days of antibiotics. Finish all the medicine.

mostly ear infection will clear up in 3 days. Dump a piece of cotton in a hot water, squeeze away the water and try to remove the wax kind of thing from the ear. Be sure to spend extra time for comforting your baby. My best suggestion is to consult doctor first and follow him as he instructed you

You need to take the baby to the doctor immediately. An untreated ear infection can lead to permanent hearing loss. They will be given an oral antibiotic and probably a fever reducer. You must complete the cycle of medicine even if you think the infection has gone away. Be sure to notify the doctor if you baby has any allergies.
