Many types of worms can exist in your cat with few or no symptoms. A routine stool test for worms is an effective measure. Roundworms, however, may cause dehydration or diarrhea. If your can develops unusual symptoms, it is best to seek veterinary care.

they try to eat grass so they can throw up. If they throw up you will actually see worms. Cats that have worms need to go to the vet to get dewormed. Sometimes they get the third eyelid and look sick.

Check the stools for white specks or actually seeing worms. Pale gums, lack of appetite, loose or mucousy stools- you should as a matter of course have your cat wormed, and remember- an indoor cat is healthier, safer and lives much longer than a cat allowed to go outdoors.

Symptoms of internal parasitism includes diarrhea, poor appetite, lethargy, coughing, abdominal distention, and visible worms, eggs, or blood in feces. Some pets don't show any symptoms. Parasite are most common in kittens and older cats. The best way to determine is to have the veterinarian run a fecal test.

Symptoms will depend on the type of worm. Tapeworms are visible as small "grains of rice" around the anus or in the stool.
