How harmful are worms to kittens?

I think my cat may have worms!

Worms can kill kittens. Depending on the type, worms can infest the digestive tract or even enter the blood stream or heart. Some worms can be transferred to humans. See a vet to receive a broad spectrum wormer.

A kitten with worms can deteriorate very quickly as they are not receiving any nutrients from the food their eating or the milk from mum. Even an adult cat will loose weight if the have them. Treat all kittens ASAP for worms and fleas.
