The main symptom is a diffuse pain in the lateral abdominal wall or in the back, and it can move to lower zones, because stone is going through the ureter. It can be accompanied by dificulty to urinate. Sometimes it can be confused with other causes of abdominal pain, however it is one of the more intense pain.

Kidney stones would be accompanied by very extreme pain in your abdomen or lower back. The pain would be quite intense, so you would probably know if you had one.

Usually the first sign of a kidney stone is an intense stabbing pain in your back, right above your belt-line. The pain may also be located in the groin area as you go to the bathroom. In my case it felt like I was peeing broken glass
