Do not buy one from a pet store - they are treated horribly and usually come ill. If you are adopting one you should charge a $30-40 adoption fee so that you know the owners will take care of the pig and treat him/her well. The adoption fee will also partly cover the food/care you provide before adoption.

Do not sell guinea pigs. There is no way to make a profit without being cruel and abusive of them, especially when so many are out there looking for homes. If you are adopting one there is usually a 30-40 dollar adoption fee to cover expenses and/or medical care and to make sure the adopter is legitimate.
