What are the lesser-known tourist sites in France?

I want to go beyond the Eiffel Tower.

For quirkiness, you can't beat the Paris Sewer Tour. I would caution you, though, that you might get a sick feeling after being there, since you are exposed to some fumes from the water flowing through the public areas. I would also recommend taking a cooking lesson. It's not exactly a tourist site, but it's a really fun experience.

Try Rick Steve's "Paris" book. It's worth every penny. There are walking tours of different areas, commentaries on things to look for and recommendations of places to eat. You can still choose your own restaurant, but it's a great way of getting more out of your trip. Have Fun!
