There are four layers to the Earth's atmosphere. The first is the troposphere. It is closest to the Earth. The second layer is the stratosphere. This layer contains the ozone layer. The third layer is the mesosphere. Meteors are slowed down in the layer. The last layer is the thermosphere.
The atmosphere has five layers. From the surface they are: the trophosphere, which is half of Earth's atmosphere, the stratosphere, where weather occurs, the mesosphere, the thermosphere and exosphere.
