What are the laws on septic tank inspection upon selling a house?

The mortgage company will have the property inspected. The inspector will make sure that the septic system is adequate, within code and functioning properly. The seller will be advised if adjustments are needed.

I had my house inspected. i had my tank located and found out it is located under a concrete patio in the backyard, 4 years after buying the house. septic company signed off saying it was inspected, impossible  add a comment

Once the perspective buyer has made a bid on the house, they are now free to pay certain inspectors to inspect the house and property. This inspections usually includes only a cursory visual inspection of the septic tank as it appears from above the dirt's surface.
